Solid episode that really just puts everyone in place for this final arc of the season. The stuff with Darla is really good too. It feels like Connor just may be too far gone at this point. Brainwashed by Holtz growing up in a hell dimension and now taken advantage of by whatever was controlling Cordelia. On one hand you have to feel for the kid. But on the other, he’s soooooooo annoying.

I can't say a whole lot about the behind the scenes really without possibly spoiling things. But joss decided to write her character into the ground to this point because Charisma became pregnant and it upended his plans for this season. She publicly denounced him last year for this and other things he did.

I LOVE the Darla stuff in this episode so much. I know they make it ambiguous as to whether or not it was the "real" Darla, but I like to believe it was really her.

one thing i really hate about this episode is the re-writing of history to force these new storylines to make sense. the writers try to explain away a lot of the twists and reveals in this episode by reframing certain events that took place in the past. like suddenly making skip evil even though there was no evidence of this prior to this episode. and telling us that cordy's ascension was all pretend. revealing that skip let angel beat him on purpose when billy escaped. or trying to explain how cordy has been masterminding everything the whole time right under their noses. the quick shot of her killing manny butt ass naked was ridiculous and unbelievable lol. you can tell they really tried to dig themselves out of the messy writing hole that they put themselves in this season by just making up shit in this episode.

Steven, can I give you credit for being one of the first reactors to watch this season and see Connor as a confused teenager. It seems you see the whole picture of his character and not only him being annoying. When I first watched live, I just hated him and that was it but it’s probably because I was also a teenager while watching it but as an adult I see how brainwashed and confused he is. This episode to me was fascinating because for me a viewer even when I despised Connor one of the things I loved about him was that killing humans was off limits to him. He just hated demons and wanted to kill anything that wasn’t human because of the hell dimension that he grew up in. So, I liked that he did have conflicting with killing some random girl because even though he is naive, he knows deep down that it’s not right. So the second Cordy kills her, you just see the shock of horror in his face. He is just so completely brainwashedx

Oh, yes, the episode where 6 seasons of Cordy's entire character growth is re-written to have her give birth to a full grown ass woman. All because Joss Whedon hated Charisma Carpenter because she got pregnant. Cool.
