For Dawson's choice, speaking only about this point in the series and not what I want, I think it makes the most sense here for him to explore what he could have with Joey. Also, this is one of Pacey's best episodes in s1 and really cements him as my favorite character just because he's so charming and passionate.

“Dawson talks too much” lol. That might as well be the alternate title to the whole series. Haha. As for me back when this was airing I was a big Dawson/Joey fan. I was a senior in high school and had the biggest crush on Katie Holmes. Without spoiling anything, on rewatches of this show my overall endgame pairings and what I wanted have changed but at the time I was all about Dawson and Joey.
