Glee and Community were made by the same production company at the same time and Glee was a mega hit and Community was not. So Community will take shots at Glee from time to time.

As far as I am aware they have never shared a production company, maybe I missed it though. They did film in similar places, and Dan Harmon didn't understand it's success (many of us don't) so he through in jokes here and there.

They filmed on adjacent sound stages or something.. But they were neighbors from what I remember Dan Harmon saying in some interview. And it was some friendly ribbing on their more successful compatriatot ratings wise.

If I remember correctly at the time Community and Glee aired at the same time on Thursday nights, which meant that they competed for ratings. Glee was more popular (and may have just partially helped contribute to Community's low ratings at the time).
