I am so sorry to tell you that seasons 4-6 are not as good as seasons 1-3. Glee took a really heavy decline. That being said season 4 isn't that terrible but I agree they really didn't have to try and recreate old characters. I actually prefer the New York stuff over the Mckinley stuff going forward, I find it really interesting and entertaining. Jake is one of my favorite voices on Glee, he is just absolutely incredible.

Not gonna lie, I disagree, season 4 is one of my fav seasons. You kinda have to move on from the season 1-3 content. Cause season 4-6 are really different, ( i like the change) I like that we not just see rachel and finn, and their realitionship drama. Because even thought we still have it, its not as extrem as season 1-3. (not gonna lie, i dont really like season 1 anyway) Also Rachel is kinda glee (sad but true) so i was never salty about the fact that we stil folow her. (we also follow kurt, not just rachel) iI like the new york storyolines, because its something new, fresh and different, Most people were really angry about the old characters leaving, and didnt really liked the idea of new characters.(Also why many people dont like season 4) Thats also why we still follow rachel and kurt. (Also you will see many many old glee character this season) like really often. Just saying, that you can get used to it haha, The jake and puck thing never really bothered me tbh. I kinda liked it, because it will get us some really good scenes at the future. (Also the reason why some new characters have a similar trait, like the old ones,is that the writers hoped people wouldnt miss the old ones to much) Brittany is the comic relief, she is random and kinda dumb. thats her charater, that will be the case for the entire show. i got used to her and her randomness, sometimes she says funny as hell stuff, thats why i like her as a character. Season 2 and 3 are my favorites, but seaason 4 is right behind it. I really like it, and the performances are on point

I understand what you're saying David. You started Glee and you loved it for the story of the Glee club and their members and the ups and downs and the family they formed and then season four basically says forget that and they start a whole new show. Part of the reason the show starts following two narratives with the Glee club and Rachel in New York is beacuse the real plan was to have a spinoff with the character of Rachel in New York but for whatever reason the Fox executives didn't pick the show up. The showrunners of Glee loved Lea and her character Rachel so much that they decided to keep her on Glee and play out the story of what the spinoff would have been. But unfortunately the Glee of seasons 1-3 are gone. Season 4-6 shows are just different. Rachel will always have major focus which depending on how you feel about the character makes you love the remaining seasons or hate them.

We are definitely in an "adjust your expectations" phase of this show...BUT...I do feel like season 4 still has a lot to offer. For me personally, almost everything I love about season 4 has to do with one particular character who really is the highlight of this season...But I'm not saying more than that because that would be a spoiler at this juncture.

Season 4 is definitely a big change from the earlier seasons. Personally I really enjoy season 4 and I feel that the show starts getting ridiculous and unrealistic in season 5-6 but it’s still entertaining. Season 4-6 sort of feel like a parody of Glee season 1-3 but if you just accept that, it feels easier to watch. I’m sorry to say but the New York storyline is a huge part of the next few seasons. Also you mentioned how the characters who graduated keep coming back to visit... unfortunately if that’s something you think is weird there’s going to be a lot more of it. I really hope the season grows on you, though. Like I said, I like season 4 but I know it’s not for everyone.

As far as Ryan Murphy & Co. were concerned, Rachel actually WAS "Glee." And I think there's a disconnect between them and a lot of their viewers in that sense because a lot of us were watching for other reasons, but yeah, she'll never not be a major focus. At this point, they were setting her and the whole NY group of characters up for a potential spin-off, but ultimately decided against it. Probably more because of a lack of faith in the original show to survive their absence than a lack of faith in the spinoff.

i never understood this because if they wanted her to BE "Glee" they could have attempted to make her more likeable so we'd root for her and enjoy her character lol i don't mind rachel as much as others tend to, but i never really understood making the face of your show and the major focal point of your show be so.....rachel lol

The original plan was to spin off Rachel Finn and Kurt, it was pretty much announced during season 3, fans got so upset that they were leaving the show the decision was reversed and they came up with this idea to have basically 2 different shows within a show. It hurts the show in my opinion and the show unfortunately never recovers..each season gets worse then the next from here on. But there are some great episodes here and there. When i rewatch Glee i pretty much stick to the first 3 seasons, but will definitely still watch your reactions!

I actually like seasons 4 through, well actually i like seasons 4 and 5, I don't love them and I don't think their as good as seasons 1 through 3 but I still enjoy them. I don't quite feel the same way about season 6 though, I mostly just watched that one because it was the final season and I wanted to see how it ended. Although I felt like adding I don't like this episode very much, I think it was a big step down from the last Britney episode, I think I get storywise what they were trying to do for this episode, but it didn't work and I felt it was insulting to Britney Spears and mental health.

this!!! the first britney episode felt like it was honoring her, this one felt as though it was parodying her. with glee supposedly all about empowerment etc. you'd think it'd have had a different tone. it also not only felt disrespectful to britney spears but also britney the character. she has her moments where you're just like "what is wrong with you...." but the last seasons also showed her as sweet and kind-hearted and not just completely vacant. but this episode seemed to take so many steps backwards in that regard. the drawing on the back of her math exam felt so insulting. thinking back on all the moments where she opened up with artie and santana about how she didn't like just being seen as stupid and proved she's more than just one-note. but this episode....yikes. it just wasn't enjoyable or funny to me.

I actually don't have a problem that the Glee Club alumni keep returning to the school. I live in a small town and was so use to seeing former students visiting when they had free time or were in town. Also some alumni went onto work in assistant coaching or mentoring positions with the local high school not that long after they graduated. I personally have more of an issue that the new characters aren't their own characters. You can easily breakdown who the new characters are suppose to be replacing (the majority of the new characters are meant to be be based on being combinations of the Glee Club alumni). To me honestly even though Marley was dubbed "The New Rachel" of all the new characters she seems the most of her own character in my opinion. I actually don't have a problem that half the focus of Glee now is on former Glee club members but I think how it is written should've been more balanced in my opinion. Rachel, Kurt, and 2 other former Glee club members make more appearances as the season progresses but the other graduates only appear sporadically throughout the rest of the series. It seems like many High School based shows don't know what to do after they have characters graduate so few have made that transition right in my opinion. In Glee's circumstance I feel like they should've decided if they wanted to focus on a new Glee Club or focus on the Glee Club Alumni, If they wanted to focus on a new Glee Club the should've made the newer Glee Club members their own characters (rather than the newer characters clearly being based off of the Glee Club alumni).. If they wanted to focus on Glee Club alumni it could've been more balanced storyline-wise (also the writers should've had all the Glee Club members graduate the same year because we didn't know until Season 3 how many characters were Seniors), If the storylines would've been more balanced Seasons 4-6 actually could've seen the show dive into storylines with multiple characters since they were in different cities and we see them occasionally all come together to visit.

I love first 3 seasons of Glee and also enjoyed 4th and 5th season a lot. Really like the NY scenes combined with the new Glee club. I think the original glee members all went through so much and became like a little family that's why they always came back when they were needed. Also its a small town. I really enjoy the music and the guest stars in season 4. Hope you get to enjoy the rest of this season of Glee along with the other 2 seasons.

I Am Not Chamari

Jake is already so much better than Puck as a character, so a lot of the direct parallels don't really make a lot of sense. Their little meetup was very weird and rushed though... they should have let this play out for a number of episodes before they actually met.

leslie martin

imo season 4 has the best male singer ever in glee club! jake, joe, blaine, artie, sam!! crazy! i guess it's an unpopular opinion but i really liked this episode! of course the first britney episode was way better, but this one is not bad

leslie martin

but kurt is in new york with rachel and you love him so are you gonna say we see him too much? i actually think season 4 is really good, i love the dynamic of getting one part in NY and one in school!

Leora Nechama

I love Jake and Marley's voices and they sounded so good together. I agree they should have moved on from the main cast more than they did.
