I synched the episode with my own copy and watched. The season finally of this season I consider being the the episode 1 of season 3. I don't think he becomes another person, the ring basically stops all his inhibitions, he does what he wants to do without thinking about the consequences, it basically gives him courage to leave. If I was a teenager, even though I'm like super strong, I think It would be very scary to leave my home, my parents and stuff even if I'm angry and hurt. I think it's the weakest season finaly of the show too, some of the later ones are craazy.

The thing with Superman and Red Kryptonite in some interpretations including this one, is that there's some part of Clark deep down that WANTS to be able to do and say those things that he does under the influence of Red K. Like it's not simply, "it makes you someone else." It's more like "it let's you be you without inhibitions or a care in the world." So while Clark feels horrible AFTER he uses it, he feels exponentially better and more free while he's under the influence. So obviously it holds the same appeal to him that alcohol or certain addictive substances hold for a lot of people - It's what he turns to when he wants to escape and to cope with pain. Of course, the problem with that metaphor is that Clark is a superpowered God-like being, making him under the influence of such a substance 10x more dangerous than us mere mortals and him even considering such a thing is WILDLY irresponsible and unethical as all getout as it would realistically probably result in lots of people's deaths, but hey, he's a stupid teen so whaddya expect, lol. That said, I'm not a fan of this finale either, tbh. It was so...overwrought, imo, and everyone seemed to be trying a little too hard to sell the OTT nature of the drama that was happening. To me this ep is an example of Smallville at its most melodramatic.

Putting on the ring is meant to be like a dumb teenage decision. It's suppose to be like taking a drug to numb the pain of a loss. You know it's bad for you and could make act like an ass and ruin your life and relationships but you do it anyway.

I can't wait til you get away from the High School years of the show, it's gonna be a long while for the really good stuff lol

Yah they really get into the lore of superman but i really like the character development in these highschool episodes

This season 2 finale comes a few years after the season 2 finale of Buffy. I find it fascinating on how similar yet different the ending is between Buffy and Clark and their motivations for leaving their small towns and live as someone else in the big city.

Well that was some insane level of victim blaming going on here lol. Angry at the Kents and saying they're partly to blame for what happened? Because they, what, drove to their son who was acting strange? You literally said the words "Why would you bring your pregnant wife...." and then stopped cause saying "..home" would have sounded insanely dumb. How were they supposed to guess he was going to cause an explosion? How would he decide to leave his wife at a Luthor wedding instead of heading home because one is clearly more dangerous than the other? Clark hadn't even let them know the ship thing was still an issue... He's definitely at fault here, even without considering how dumb getting rid of the miracle ship is. He went full dumbass this episode, no clue why you were defending him

Interesting seeing Chloe agree to do Lionel's bidding considering what Allison Mack was up to

Season 2- Twenty-seven people died in Season 2, (four of them off-screen.) Unfortunately, Clark was responsible for the death of his unborn sibling. There are 8 episodes this season where no one was killed. By the end of this season, there are a total of 13 episodes in the whole series where no one was killed. That's an average of approximately 7 episodes per season. Clark saves Lana Lang and Lex Luthor three times each. He saves Chloe Sullivan twice. He saves Pete and Lionel three times. He saves Jonathan from mortal danger twice and gets him out of serious trouble twice. He saves Martha once and helps Jonathan save her once. Clark's ship saves him twice. Lex, Pete, Jonathan, and Martha each save Clark once. Although not in mortal danger, Clark is saved from red kryptonite by Pete and Jonathan, then inadvertently by Chloe. There was only one fatality among the staff of Smallville High: Frankle. There were four fatalities among the students of Smallville High: Troy Turner, Russell Burton, Chrissy Parker and Travis George.

Well honestly I partially agree with him, and its because of the scene that was played out. When the explosion happened Johnathon was going way to fast down that street to a point were it looked in the scene like he would have crashed even if the explosion didn't go off. Based off the sound of the vehicle he was still going fast, which you think he wouldn't do because his wife had a baby and she was in the car. At the end of the Day not everyone is going to have same opinion on whats going on in a show.

Cheddah dude really??? He was rushing to get home on the normally paved road, he wasnt about to get into an accident. Valid Disagreements aint a problem but they HAVE TO HAVE MERIT
