This is the episode where I really fell in love with One Tree Hill. Anytime i reccomend this show to a friend, I tell them that if they first don't like it, at least wait til episode 6 to decide.

This is one of my top favorite episodes of One Tree Hill, it definitely got me hooked into the series. Also episodes 7 and 8 are soo good ugh, I can't waitt!! And yes Dan is the definition of ASSHOLE! He is disgusting, and the worst person everr, I never hated a character as much as I hate Dan tbh lol

One Tree Hill definitely starts to pick up starting with this episode. The first 5 episodes definitely are slow in comparison because the episodes are about showing the viewer what is meant to be the existing dynamics of friendships/relationships between the characters. This episode definitely starts to show the dynamics with friendships and relationships changing. With this episode we finally see Nathan and Lucas having conversations that aren't arguments (are they going to be loving brothers overnight obviously not but this is the start of them having civilized conversations rather than constant arguments). Also with Nathan talking to Lucas about Dan we finally start to see that Nathan isn't as rude as we were originally meant to perceive him to be but actually see he seems super defensive because he grew up with a parent like Dan who has always attacked him over the smallest things in efforts to make Nathan "the best" rather than just being a normal parent like Karen and Deb are. The early Haley, Peyton, and Brooke dynamic is definitely interesting to see because right now they definitely are in that phase of trying to "figure each other out". Brooke and Haley haven't really interacted much yet so they don't really "get each other" yet meanwhile Haley and Peyton have talked a few times so they are somewhat cordial with each other while at the same time seeming a little skeptical of one another.

Regarding what you guys said, there is a difference between Nathan dating Haley and Peyton dating Lucas. First Nathan has been a dick so far to Luke and Haley knows that, while Peyton has acted nice and normal towards Haley. So Luke has more rights to be upset that Haley likes his bully (so far).

Also regarding the Pickerington guys, you know they were exaggerating (like teenagers do) - :)) no need to jump to murder haha - they were just messing with them. Like when Nathan said ''my dad's gonna kill me'' no one jumps to oh his dad is going to actually murder him - it's just an expression. No exagerration there. It's actually a common interaction between assholes bullies and their victims (in an high school setting).
