Light Yagami

To answer your question, season 8 is when the show falls off, without a doubt. Enjoy this one though, it’s great.

Around the same time, the actor who played the cop Mike who died got picked up for another role on Sons of Anarchy, which he lasted 3 seasons on and was one of the shows main antagonist. It was just a better role so he took that full time instead on staying on Dexter. Not always on the writers. They probably wouldve written something for him if he didn't tell him at the start he was done.

I don't mind Mike's death. He was a cool character but too boring for this show. But the way it went out it's not trash. It's shocking and it starts a plotline as you can see. I guess we have different opinions but I noticed that whenever a character dies either off screen or without too much ceremony you call it trash. Sometimes it serves a plotline for characters to die that way. It's real and better for it. Some characters die in the arms of the person they love and some die for no reason, senseless and brutal (wrong place at the wrong time). It's shocking and good writing. It gave an otherwise boring character an interesting twist. The end is just amazing the best gasp moment besides Dex finding out Brian was his brother. This episode gets a 10 from me. Great reaction. Can't wait for the next episode.

I quite like season 8, maybe just the finale it's a letdown haha :)

The guy that is dating the babysitter bought the hand off ebay when the hot girl stole it from masuka. And then dexter took the hand from him.

Janet Daurity

Actually Lewis sent the hand to Dexter and Travis opened it. Jamie probably put it away somewhere without Dexter seeing it.

Dexter killing Viktor is a major part of the season but I don't want to say more, spoilers, etc.

Janet Daurity

The opening scene was a misdirect to make you think Dexter runs, and Lewis cancelled his credit cards which is also big. At this point, I say trust the writing, there is a reason its just not always laid out clearly. Keeps you guessing, which I like.

Janet Daurity

Dexter pretty much rejected what he learned from Brother Sam by the final episode of season 6. It all resolved in the kill scene. Maybe you should go back and rewatch that one. Great scene!

And this is why they had Deb fall in love with Dexter. It got her to the church (she was going to tell him that she loved him) and also made her except his excuse for killing Travis. She wanted to believe him. I think she would have done it as his loving sister anyway but i guess the writers thought she needed more motivation than that.

season 8 is by far the worst season and when i believe the show fully falls off the rails.

By the way, Dexter is leaving Netflix on Dec 31 but will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Jan 1

I'd say after episode 4 of the last season the quality just plummets faster than the stock market in 08. Everything before that just had so much potential, and once episode 5 starts it's like a totally different show.

Insane fucking episode. They kept raising the stakes where I thought they were still going to drag out Deb finding out the truth-truth, but they end with Dexter ADMITTING he's a serial killer. I legit shouted "OH SHIT". If this season can keep up the momentum from this episode, this could wind up being the best season of the show since 4. 10 for me, great premiere!

Libby

Yeah they wanted to make it look like maybe Deb turned him in so he had to run. Obviously we find out he's just going to kill that guy and Lewis screwed with his credit cards.
