This is a really good episode but my favorites you haven't watched yet in S3A

I promise you all of your Lydia questions will be answered in the upcoming episodes just sit back a lil while longer lol!!!

As Stefan said, your questions about Lydia will be answered soon. As for Chris Argent asking about his uncle, he was probably 5-10 around the time it happened. Allison told him what hotel they were at so he was reminded about it and he wanted to clarify what alpha bit his uncle because he knows that Deucalion has been giving Allison and her friends trouble. Basically the werewolves were experiencing their worst fears and regrets in this episode. Isaac with his dad, Boyd with the guilt of his sisters death, Ethan with his brother and then Scott with his feelings about Allison, losing his mom, and feeling guilty about everything that’s happened to his friends. Honestly I loved this episode but I do understand how the cheesy moments and dramatic music and not great acting can ruin it.

This is one of my favorite episodes in the entire series (mainly because of why I was personally going through when it aired). This episode definitely has cheesy editing at points, but it's a much more important episode than you think it is for reasons you'll find out later in the season. The mystery behind Lydia is purposeful and you will definitely not be disappointed as it is unveiled to you. In fact, if you ever re-watch the series from the beginning again, you'll notice just how many details went into the mystery of Lydia that you miss on a first watch. I *still* notice little things and I've seen this show so many times. I think Chris Argent didn't really put the pieces together since he was probably really young when his uncle died and never really thought much of it until Allison brought up the hotel. It was probably one of those "why does that place sound so familiar...?" moments. The show is in real time and this episode aired in 2013 so it happened about ~36 years prior to the show's current time. Plus, his just lost his wife in a similar way so he's probably still feeling some anger over that. Obviously, he can't go after Derek so going after Deucalion is the closest thing he'd get to revenge. There's more I want to add, but spoilers, so I'll leave it at this! I don't think they were going for the viewers thinking Scott would die, but more for the built up of feels and basically teasing that this show will probably continue to touch darker subjects like suicide and putting characters in more situations like this. The show continues to get darker in different ways and it starts with this season.

You are not wrong. Teen Wolf is such a great show. But I often think about how much more great it would have been if the editing, music and cheesiness had been dialed down, the show would have been at the height of its potential.

Tendai kangas

the editing gets better...

It's not the best episode for me because the one before highlighted an intensity that usually starts at the beginning of the season and increases in crescendo but this episode was just a void after all this action in the previous episode. Afterwards, it's not bad, but I think that of season 3A this one is the least intense in terms of action and revelation, but it is also strong emotionally and a bit cheesy but that we know, it is teen wolf just like slow motion that occur at the most inconvenient times sometimes. I also like that Stiles is the one to save the day, usually they put Scott forward with his muscles and his supernatural abilities but this time Stiles, as always, is living up to his intelligence.

Its definitely not the best episode it was good but definitely not the best

I don’t think anyone thought Scott would actually do it because there’s obviously more episodes to watch. I think they were just exploring his psyche more and the same state he was in. Plus the same themes were being explored with Ethan and Boyd because of the wolfsbane and the motel so it had to end up affecting Scott too

Jordan

Scott was wet because he'd poured the gasoline all over himself. And we can't really tell you anything about Lydia right now or you'll be spoiled, but answers will come your way soon. This is my second favorite episode of the show (after 3x13) because of how beautifully it showcases the relationship of Scott and Stiles during that flare scene. You do have to keep in mind that this was a one episode a week show on MTV, and could have ended literally any time in the viewers' eyes. We had no idea while this season aired that there would be 6 seasons in all--it could have been the last season at any time until we heard it was renewed for another 12 episodes. So a lot of the "will this person die?" moments just don't hit the same for you when you already know the show goes on.

This is one of my favourite episodes. As for your nitpicks, I very much disagree with them except Derek and Ms Blake being rushed but there’s more detail to be revealed so.. As for Allison’s dad, I think you missed the line about the motel sounding familiar on the call with Allison. Plus, it was when he was very young so it was probably a case of being unaware about serious things like that when you’re that young - perhaps it was a blur to him and brought up because he recognised this motel name and decided to research into it after not properly being told the details of his suicide. And the moment with Scott and Stiles. This is one of the best scenes in the show. It wasn’t a situation where they were trying to scare the audience into thinking they’d kill of Scott, it was a moment that’s sort of stepping away from the alpha pack situation, generally this episode sort of like a breath before exhaling if that as a metaphor makes sense. It was to step away and show how he’s feeling with the ongoing failures from the previous episode and how far he’s come from when he was bitten. This moment, I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the bond between Scott and Stiles because it’s a very important bond as shown by stiles bringing him back from this traumatising situation. I just thought you took this scene too literally and thought you were taking it face value, that’s all. It’s an important scene for friendship and stepping back from everything that’s going wrong.

Having probs with the audio on ur end not the show

Staton Chapman

This was 1 of my favorite episodes so far. I honestly dont get all the criticism of the acting but thats just me. I reallly am enjoying watching

Stefan Davis

It’s the unnecessary slow down effects that waters down the acting in my opinion but I don’t think the acting is that bad......( also a lot of these actors weren’t an many films or shows before this so I’m sure that has something to do with it)
