A lot of pieces at play, tons of things introduced to fill the rest of the season so let your predictions begin! Season 6 will keep you guessing, as for "the cousins", they're really not important. Wouldn't get too hung up on them; the real good stuff is the Alpha Vamp, Soulless Sam, finding Purgatory, Crowley is involved, a lot of revelations happened in this episode. I give this a 9

Also the only other creature we saw them catch was the Djinn in the season premiere--but it wasn't the alpha, it was just a rando chick

Crowley has become the bad guy I love!! Lot of info to process from this episode. Agree with you I don't understand why Samuel is working with Crowley. Samuel was in Heaven, surely with his wife Deanna. Maybe this is about bringing Sam and Dean's mom back like you said - but also like you said, if this was about Mary, why wouldn't Samuel just tell the boys that?? They might actually be on board with it too, so why keep it from them?? Or maybe Samuel just assumes that even for their mom, the boys wouldn't work with demons. It's all so murky, and frustrating because of that. Hoping the next couple episodes clear things up.
