Bummer, this is one of the better episodes of the season for me and was looking forward to it. Not sure how much of the rating is because the episode just didn't do it for you, and how much was that other reason that's been rehashed in the past.

I like Jess, and wouldn't mind seeing Jess and Rory together. However, I have horrible taste in men based on past experiences and tend to like men and characters that are just asshats.

I agree with everything you said in your review of the episode especially about Jess. Nothing that has happened so far with him has made me root for him and Rory to get together. But yeah I feel the same about Christopher, i'm not a fan of him at all but I guess its nice that he asked to spend time with his kid.

As far as personality goes, I always thought Jess and Rory were more suited to each other. The catch is that he's a complete dick so we don't really want to root for him at all. I've never really liked Dean that much but he is better boyfriend material, except for a few lapses here and there. I've always had one big problem with Lorelai. She's very emotionally weak. She'll have a little mini breakdown about something and it leads her to do irrational or questionable things. Don't get me wrong, I love the character a lot, but that's been her biggest flaw to me.

Agree when I watched this the first time I didn’t feel jess was a good guy up to this point, he smells like truble!

Brianna Dawson

I personally really like Jess, I just feel that him and Rory's conversations are more in tune with the same interests and he brings out a different side to her. Loved your reaction, can't wait for the next one.

Most of my friends who watch this show are females, so it’s so interesting to get a guys perspective. I agree with you about Jess. I’ve never been huge on the tortured bad boy type of characters. Him and Rory have good chemistry, I just wish they hadn’t done a love triangle. It’s soo boring and predictable.

Mariella Nilsson

I love that lorelei is so emotional and expressive, and dynamic! That’s what makes her usch a good protagonist! Lorelei, Emily and Paris all have that extra something that always makes their scenes interesting!

Fizzy

Lmaoo I love how honest you are about this 😂

Casey Mead

Its strange watching someone hate Jess when he's my favourite character

I think Jess as a love rival at least makes sense, It's a bit stereotype bad boy vs Good boy. But at least you can get why Rory might feel a bit drawn to him. He likes the same music as her, the same books, he's smart. And he's very good looking. So, for me it always made sense.

Paul Gibson

I have been watching along with you and I feel that there must be some serious future character growth because so far Jess has done nothing in any way redeeming

I am kind of disappointed you rated this so low as it’s always rated in the top ten in rankings. Lorelai was very selfish in this episode and if this has been her attitude the whole time well it’s no wonder he was reluctant to be more present.

And Jess is a great character. Rory needs to get out of her comfort zone, and see that there’s more than boring, possessive, volatile Dean. Rory and Jess have common passions and are much more comparable. I loved how Lorelai knew that Jess wasn’t fooled by Luke’s lie, and that Jess knew which snowman was hers and that he destroyed the other one do she would win. It’s a journey with Hess,

I disagree! Lorelai has always left the door WIDE open for him to visit Rory, and until she was 16! he never came to Stars Hollow, meaning they had to go to him which is just ridiculous! Lorelai has raised Rory by herself with NO child support from Christopher, barely any visits and by the sounds of things, any visits prior to season 1 happened outside of Stars Hollow. He calls Lorelai JUST before Rory's winter break, yet has never bothered before. Why should Lorelai have to give up Christmas with her daughter because Chris suddenly wants her to stay with him over the holidays. You don't get to pick and choose when to be involved. If he really gave a shit, he'd of visited often but he chose to stay away. That's on him, not Lorelai.
