This series man. I watched the first couple of episodes through your reactions, and because the genre is right up my alley I went ahead and watched it through myself. Some major aspects it did well, but the choices in some other side things and the directing was sooo infuriatingly bad, it soured it as a whole for me. And it essentially all started with this episode. The fact that they had Kinsey use the box on someone was bad enough, but they decide to have her use it... in the middle of the stairs everyone would walk by? Why? You can have that exact same scene occur in a corner and make the character seem a bit less brain dead. Very few shows I've ever watched fail to have characters react realistically and logically as much as this series. It's frustrating because some of the twists were really great, but it just feels like who ever was tasked with filling in the details around the bigger plot-points was a much weaker storyteller than the creator of the plot-points themselves.

I get the frustration with book to show adaptions. When they created True Blood from the Southern Vampire series, I was constantly mad every week until I started thinking of it at 2 separate things. I didn't realize keys could be made. I thought that the keys were pre-existing. If that is true then it doesn't make sense that Duncan made the keys to take his own memories. As for Duncan changing his face, I felt that scene existed so that we could know there is a key that changes someone's appearance and nothing to do with Duncan being gay since we already know that he is gay or we assume so from his comments. When I heard about the show I heard the books were really dark so I thought the show would also be really dark. I still like the show but feel like it would be better if it were darker. I assume that since there are kids they decided on more fantasy over horror. Also wondering when you are gonna continue reactions? I know this isn't a "popular" show but I personally would like you to finish the season. Thanks and great reaction as always!
