Not my favourite episode - I think you hit the nail on the head with the movie-style cheesiness. Some nice bits though, and an enjoyable reaction.

This episode kind of reminds of that Colin Farrell movie Phone Booth, if only because of the creepy voice over the phone. But yeah I agree with you, it was kind of cheesy. I think the concept in and of itself was good, but the execution left something to be desired.
