So i dont remember exactly what Christopher's job is but he started it himself. They mentioned banking or finance as he would have had to join his families business if they had married but since they didnt he was free to do his own thing. i dont remember if anything else has been said other then in the first episode when Rory and Lorelai fight about her not wanting to go because of a boy she mentions he better have a motorcycle and some other things because your just like me. meaning she gave up her education for a boy with a bike (Christoper)

I understand why you would think that Christopher would be a completely different person with him being rich and a banker, but you have to realize that Lorelai fell for him when she was 16 and would she really have fallen for someone boring? Nope, she fell for someone a little bit dangerous. Also, if you remember, in episode 1, when Lorelai found out Rory didn't want to go to Chilton because of Dean, Lorelai said "Well if you want to ruin your future for him, I hope he at least has a motorcycle" and I think that could have been a throwback to Christopher as well :)
