am i the only one who never bought the whole "i'm immortal and all powerful, but i choose not to use it" thing?

This is a really good episode to me. They really dug deeper into emotions and motives. I love to hear the story of how a hunter got started hunting. Sterling K Brown is amazing, so different and menacing as Gordon Walker. Dean's dilemma and Sam's calling him out was great. I don't know how you feel but they really rock the brother dynamic. Great reaction can't wait for the next one.

I like this episode, Sterling is great, plus instilling the idea that not all supernatural creatures are evil. Fun fact, Jared broke his wrist filming that episode. Not the first time, back in Season 1 when he, Jensen & a friend got attacked at a bar (group of idiots thought they were someone else), the boys kicked ass (they’d already been trained to fight for the show) but Jared broke a bone in his hand had to wear a removal cast. This helped cement their off screen friendship.

I really like this episode. It's deeper and has more to think about than the one below. I like that. Luckily for me, I was able to see these vampires totally separately from those in other shows. It can become a hindrance if comparison's come up while you're watching another show. Sterling did a good job in this one, and it was a good character to use off of Sam and Dean. You asked about how John may have acted in this episode. I don't think John would have ever let it get to the point of even finding out about the vampires. He wouldn't have listened to Sam, but I don't think it would have gotten that far. He'd have hit the ground running. Hunting the vampires and not waiting on Gordon. I think Gordon was able to find them quickly because he had been in the area for a while, checking out all the farms. So he had a head's start once he heard about the bridge. I took note of how Dean reacted to what Gordon said about killing his sister. That's likely something Dean wouldn't be able to understand. Seeing Gordon acting like this really shook him, so that broke whatever spell he had over Dean. Especially with how he treated Sam. I just always like this deeper stuff. Action and scary stuff is fine, but this stuff often means more to me.
