Ari is my Cat

I love how this episode is put together.

They left because he had a gun pointed at them. He could have shot two before they got him. And guess who he would have shot first. It wasn't worth the risk.

Yea that's what I figured which is why i called it a nitpick and might be something as simple as that.

That was such a good episode! Glad you enjoyed it so much :)

Fun fact I ran across 👉🏼 According to the DVD commentary, Alan Tudyk took the big red "recall" button from the Firefly set and presented it to Joss Whedon, telling him that if Whedon managed to get the series renewed, he could press it to call the cast back.

I think the crew that shot him is a meta commentary on the show. I think in some of the earlier conceptions they were thinking of the crew on Serenity more like the scavengers we saw in this episode. Where they're a little more ruthless but care about each other. So I view it as them being cold blooded towards others but caring about their own captain. BUT I still have to gripe that if Serenity was in the middle of nowhere it must have cost this other crew a good amount to fly out there and not get any reward. Those types of scavengers couldn't afford to go back empty handed.

I didn't catch it until the most recent time I watched this ep, but Wash was giving Mal blood in that scene at the end.

Fun fact when this got canceled Joss was fighting for it to get picked back up or for him to be able to find some other way to keep the show going ie The Movie. Anyway Alan Tudyk at some point took the button and gave it to Joss and told him "When your miracle gets here call us all back"💜

I love you jamming out to the theme song. :) Fun, non-spoilery fact, the set for Serenity was pretty much built in two big pieces. If I remember correctly, it's the cargo bay with the stairs and anything connected to that, like Inara's shuttle, and then the halls with the kitchen/dining area, sleep areas and on up into the cockpit. They tried to make the set as complete as possible so you could walk through it and feel like you were actually on a ship. In fact, Joss Whedon often credits Serenity as the 10th main character of the show. And I think that fluidity of the set is showcased nicely in this episode. :)

Perfection!

Okay, so how come I have access to only this episode of the series? What's the deal? I used to have access to all of them.

Now that you have seen how great this show can be what do you think of the fact it got canceled so fast?

As far as plot, it would have worked better if only one or two came over from the hostile vessel but Joss Whedon loves doubling and he wanted that nefarious crew to double the much nicer crew of Serenity, with their own Mal and their own Jayne. For that he needed a greater number.
