Ari is my Cat

Yes that's the girlfriend from Dexter and it's Darla the vampire who turned Angel in Buffy.

Heather Flores-Ricks

So Layla is from Dexter and Buffy. On Buffy she played Darla from season 1. :)

Oh god, you're watching on Netflix...did no one tell you about the music? You missed out on the best music cue in all of S1 because Netflix doesn't allow the original soundtrack for S1 so they replaced it with generic modern rock. Next time you watch this episode, you should get the correct version, cause it makes the episode even better than it already is :)

I really like this episode. There's stuff here that might not be visible, or understandable at first viewing. Dean was letting the Reaper attack him, basically. Well, he wasn't really trying to get away, because he felt like his life was saved as the cost of another person's life. I think a part of him was just going to let it happen, and maybe Layla would be saved with his life before Sam could destroy the alter and cross. And if so, good. This whole thing seemed to weigh pretty hard on him. Someone was killed, and Dean was given life from that. And then he meets Layla, who didn't get healed because of him. So, I think that he saw his life being exchanged for hers as just a fair deal. I really liked the chemistry between Dean and Layla too. I also like how this show isn't afraid to cover the moral issues. I was electrocuted as a kid. Not nearly as bad as Dean, but bad enough. I felt sore for about two weeks afterwards. Like I was run over by a truck. Every single muscle in my body hurt like heck and hard to move. How Dean got around at all is a mystery to me. But he's a lot tougher than I was! I had to laugh when you said "good line - good line" after Dean said to the cops "you going to put the fear of God into me?" While before you said "bad line/bad writing" when the cop said the exact same thing to Dean. I'm supposing you did that on purpose. Yeah. our boys can act. Jensen is really good at this selling the lines. He IS Dean when he's doing a scene. The Reaper couldn't kill the Wife or Husband, to use one of them to save Layla. As long as the wife has control, he's bound and can't do anything against either one of them. So no way the Reaper would decide to kill her and save Layla. And once the Reaper was free, he had no reason to save Layla, but he killed the wife because he was pissed, I guess. But there was nothing making him save Layla, so he (it) didn't. Guess they don't think altruistically. And that's also why it didn't go through with killing Dean. It had no reason to. Not with the binding magic destroyed. She dies and her husband lived. That was the exchange for her life.

Don't Fear the Reaper by BOC was playing when the reaper came at the end. It was such an iconic SPN music moment. WTF Netflix!?!?
