Ari is my Cat

I have not missed a single episode and yet I find myself often annoyed by some of the origin stories of some villains and how they altered them. Some episodes are great and others are just bad if you like the comics.

On picking pockets, it's common to bump your target so they don't feel the lift.

In the earliest comics Gordon's wife is not named. Later they have Barbara as his fiance and first wife and mother of his son James jr. In the new 52 they made her also the mother of Barbara aka Batgirl.

I think my biggest problem with prequel shows is the lack of tension. Did anyone think Penguin was going to die? They played it like the audience wouldn't know Penguin wasn't going to survive. Lets face it every character introduced is like "Is he in the comics? If yes he/she can't die, if not they probably will."

It seems like google drive video are not around anymore. At least this and Warehouse 13. I know they were only one episode each, was just going to check them out anyway to see your reaction. It might be helpful to edit posts of episodes that are not available and won't be reposted to let people know, just for newer people.

It doesn’t have to be exactly the same chill Jesus it’s a different type of show if it was all the same who would care and everything doesn’t have to mean so,

I know a lot of people have differing opinions on Gotham and I understand. For me though I really loved the show. I've been a huge DC fan since I was a kid and Superman is my fav and then Batman. I grew up with the animated series and the older films and some comics and then loved Smallville. Originally they were thinking about doing a Bruce Wayne prequel show back then and then went with Clark. Anyway when it comes to Gotham I think people get to hung up on it being different than the comics in some ways and expecting it to be something it's not or for things to happen in the way the expect or want. For me for seeing so many versions of the characters and different reboots or alt universes or else world type stories over the years in the comics and in the animated shows, films and the live action film and shows I'm not as bothered when they do their own thing or version of stuff. I mean Smallville, the Arrowverse shows, the Dcuniverse shows etc all do stuff in their own way different than comics but I still like all of them in their own ways but even though sometimes they change stuff too it seems like people seemed to focus on and criticize Gotham for it's differences more so than any of the other series. Sometimes with changes of differences in any version in any medium some work out better than others and sometimes like with this show people can have different opinions of how they portray a certain character or having a story line go or how "good" the writing is. I personally think with this show you kinda need to go into with the mindset that it is an alternate reality elseworlds type story from the comics or films etc where characters and events happen similar to those other version but but their own twist or earlier and within a different context than the do in those. It's kinda like say for example instead of something like Supermans ship landing in Metropolis instead of Smallville or Bruces parents lving and him dying like in Flashpoint which makes things different in Gotham it's just that some of the Villans start to appear earlier in the timeline than they normally do. I think that is a lot less of a stretch or change than some of the alt versions of stuff from every medium. I think the thing that happened when Gotham came out that I think hindered the fandom and enjoyment or understanding of what they were going for with the show was a lot of people seemed to try and take it as "canon" or more straight up sorta adaptation of the pre batman pre year one stuff from the comics and films instead of seeing that it was more of an alt reality else world type thing. I think it needed to be just treated as it's own thing that takes inspiration from other versions and takes some of the personalities or aspects of different versions of the characters and then uses them in their own way and puts their own spin on the version of events. It has it's ups and down but I watched the whole series when it was airing with my Dad and we enjoyed the hell out of it and couldn't wait to see what crazy thing was going to happen next week because with the villains on this show so crazy stuff happens along the way. Anyway it's to bad it looks like you didn't keep going with the show. I think it would be a great one to go back and watch reactions of.

Barbara was his wife in the comics and the Barbara who is Batgirl is their daughter. In the show this is not the Barbara that becomes Batgirl. This is James or Jim Gordon who becomes Commissioner not James Jr. their son. In the show this is the mother and father not the son and daughter that are named after them.
