Lucy didn't screw Snow over. One thing the movie suffers from is that the book is entirely Snow's inner monologue, and you lose all of that translating it to film. In the book he does like Lucy but he sees her more as a thing that he "owns" because he saved her life in the Hunger Games. He never truly loved her or wanted to live with her in the capitol, he wanted to "keep her" as a prize or a token of his win. He realizes when he sees those guns at the lodge that he doesn't have to run away anymore. As long as he kills Lucy (unfortunate but "necessary") and trashes the evidence there would be nothing linking him to the crime and he'd be free to get back to the capitol. Lucy realizes the second he says "no more loose ends" that he was the one who got Sejanus killed based on their earlier conversation and that he'll kill her too to cover his tracks. She leaves the cabin to try to escape from him before he can get to her

It’s still my second favorite film. I think the lore and the world building was awesome. I want a TV series of this world so bad.
