Ahh, yes. Clipboard Buck. A gift to some and a curse to others 🤣🤣

Honestly, I'm on Buck's side with all this for the most part... 😬 Bobby is the one who said he's not ready. If not for Bobby saying he's not ready, he'd be back at work. I mean, the blood thinners weren't a problem during the tsunami, they're not gonna be a problem while working either. By the way it's all framed, the doctors said he could go back, the higher ups all said he could go back, but Bobby didn't. I'm pretty sure it's more about that than his actual job tbh. He's upset about not being able to do his job, sure, but he's more worried about not being with his family. And I think what makes it worse is that just before that dinner he'd been talking to the Lawyer about how they all have his back, he trusts them, they're his family. Then as he's telling Bobby all about that and asking for his support, he learns that Bobby had gone behind his back and was the reason he wasn't allowed back at work with his family. And it doesn't come from a malicious place on Bobby's part at all, I'm very aware of that. It comes from a place of fear. He lost two kids, in a fire that he caused. And he watched Buck almost die twice due to someone wanting revenge on Bobby. He's clearly terrified of something happening to Buck because he sees him as his kid. But in trying to protect him, he's actually hurting him. And that's the problem. Also, we got kinda a build up to it. Buck was happy to be doing his light duty work. Well, not happy, but he was doing it and taking it seriously. But then Bosko called for Eddie when he was talking to him and Eddie immediately left, and her name was taped over his, and then they all had to leave on a call leaving him behind. It was only when he felt he was being replaced by Bosko that he started freaking out again and talking about being ready to be back and all that. And it all came to a head when Bobby admitted he was the one keeping him from work. And honestly, yeah, he went through a lot on the tsunami. He saved about a dozen people single-handedly with pretty much no gear or anything. Now, I'm not saying he went about things in the best way. I do think he went a bit far, but it all makes sense. (It also might come a lot from knowing more about him as a character from having watched the whole show, and that means understanding why it all would feel the way it does for him and why the way people around him handled it was actually probably the worst possible way to do so for him when it would've been the right way to handle it for most people...) But for me it all comes down to the fact that the way it was said is that Bobby is the only one keeping Buck from coming back to work, and it's due to his own traumas, and that isn't actually fair... (Honestly, I could say so much more about this arc, but a lot of it links to things you don't yet know because of where you are in the show...) Honestly, with the episode title being triggered, this whole thing was a trigger for him too. Meanwhile, Maddie has taken up stalking as an extra curricular activity! The Buckley's are having a great time rn! 🤦🏻‍♀️ Nah, but seriously. She's not okay. She needs to go back to Therapy. Dropping that plate triggered her, and then she got that call like the next day and so she was still dealing with that when it came in and it just made it worse. I get why she's doing what she's doing, but it is NOT okay, and she is clearly not okay either. The Buckley's need to go to Therapy!!! Neither of them are okay!

Buck has always been an "act first, think of consequences maybe later" kinda guy, so I get it that, in his frustration, he decided to act in an almost childish manner. And, oddly, I don't really blame him for this. Obviously it's not the way to go but I understand that he might feel like there's no other way out. The dude literally not only survived a tsunami but was actively helping people through it. According to the LAFD, he IS ready but Bobby put a stop to it because BOBBY isn't ready. I do think it's very sweet that Bobby thinks of Buck so dearly that he wants to protect Buck, but this is actually to his detriment. How long is Buck meant to stay out of the LAFD until Bobby is ready? They need to have a father-son talk and hug it out tbh. Chris saying he didn't tell Eddie he was having nightmares about his mum cuz he didn't want to make Eddie sad was so heartbreaking 😢
