God I love this show. A beautiful episode and so nice to see a kinder side of Mary. It looked like Matthew’s mother saw this side of Mary too which was cool. “Poor Edith” seems to be an unfortunate but accurate description of Edith but it was really nice to see her get a win even though she can and has been just as nasty as Mary in the past. When you said “I hope Bates kills both of you” about Thomas and Miss O’Brien I laughed so hard 😂 Fun reaction!

This show does the subtlety of the way people acted around each other, especially the aristocrats, in that time period quite well. That's why they never outwardly say anything outlandishly flirty or go on dates or things like that (something that shows like Bridgerton disregard in order to appeal to the modern audience). They slowburn the hell out of things, have one kiss then it's proposal time LOL. I like that a lot. Also, they always tell the year at the beginning of the episode. In episode 1 the Titanic just sank. It was April 1912. This episode, at the beginning, they wrote it was May 1914 on the screen. I enjoy seeing Nice Mary. She does have a good heart but it's often overshadowed by her rivalry with Edith and the callousness that can only come from privilege.
