Holy MOLY these were a doozy. Every time I set out to make ears I'm like "oh I can totally do this. This will take take hour tops" and then I spend 3 days suffering, lol! I'm pretty dang happy with how these came out, all things considered!!!

I started with a basic non-animal-specific ear shape. Could turn into cat, could turn into wolf, could be certain dogs, could turn into bat, could turn into fox, etc. His ears definitely read as shiba inu to me, but when j tried to replicate thay exact shape, it looked VERY strange held against a human head. I've noticed most ear makers tend to change the shape of animal ears to fit more naturally on a human. I extended the outer edges of the ears to sit more naturally on my head and added a bit more floof in the bottom sides to hopefully blend the ears into my head and the wig in a way that is flattering.

Once I was happy with the paper draft of the ear shape, I traced it onto worbla, cut them out, and began refining the shape with heat.

The most deficult, messy, and frustrating part of this entire process was DEFINITELY trimming the fur down. I spent soooooo long figuring out exactly how much to shave down the shortest bits ( I landed on 1.5mm clippers) and how long to keep the longest bits (around an inch). I'm working on a template for exactly where I shaved down which parts and to what length to include in the ear and tail pattern and tutorial I'm making.

Fur got everywhere. EV A WRYYY WHERE. Even wearing a mask, I feel like I breathed in so much. It's so so so VERY messy, yall. It also takes quite a long time. Or maybe thats the just my learning curve. Idk. I struggled.

After trimming, holding the fur against the worbla, and trimming again for hours, I finally got both the inside and outside fur where I wanted it. I hot glued the inside fur in first, leaving between an 8th and a quarter of an inch of warbla around the top and sides for the outside fur to fold over, then I glued down the outside fur. Once the fur was glued in, I went back in with the clippers and refined the shapes feathered the long bits, and cleaned up the edges with a small hair of Scissors.

The final step was adding the pink inside and color matching the fur to the wig I bought. I use eyeshadow and hair spray to color my ears because honestly airbrushing scares the shit out if me. I've tried it many times in different things with the guidance of experienced friends but I still really don't feel comfortable and confident with it. Eyeshadow and be messy and can transfer if it isn't set properly, but it really hasn't given me and problems, personally. I combed the floofy bits in the exact position i liked them and then hairsprayed the whole thing to lock in the shape.

I still need to glue in wire and attach them to a headband, but that's a job for another day.

As always, if you have any questions or if something didn't make sense, feel free to comment!
