Experimenting with surface/volumetric interactions turned into a specially-crafted martini glass in blender.  It turns out when you have a liquid too close to glass the light rays kinda get confused and die within the gap, making a very VERY dark liquid within.   So I made this martini glass who's inside surface shares material with the liquid, allowing more of that liquid shader to come thru the glass.   ....aaaand then this happened.   The last part may have happened a bit too quickly >,,>'
