If your looking for a sad series you could do ‘Orange’ or if your looking for a movie you could do ‘A Silent Voice’

I don’t want to spoil too much, but orange is about a girl and her friends trying to help a new guy from making a tragic decision. Silent Voice is a story about a guy and a deaf girl and what they’ve been through in elementary leading up to high school.
