This episode was highly emotional for me, and I suspect a lot of people. It's interesting how attached I've gotten to the characters so quickly... I think this is why I prefer to watch a TV series rather than a movie, as I get to spend a lot more time with the characters and get to know and love them.

It's something I've been thinking a lot about lately, as I wanted to incorporate movies into the reaction channel more, but I just don't feel myself gravitating towards them enough. I also rarely watch movies and my favourites are the big names from the 90's and 00's like Green Mile, Shawshank Redemption... I feel happy when I'm watching a TV series, but I also REALLY wanted to watch more movies on the channel so I'm feeling that urge to do so but it also has to be something I'm genuinely interested in! I had time to watch The Goonies for the channel last week, but instead I chose to watch some more Buffy 🤣

Loved this episode. A really good one, very emotional, and truly, who wouldn't do what Rose did, if we were in her position? I know it's a bad thing to do, but I personally would find it VERY difficult not to act on what I knew was coming. Time travel... a fantastic yet haunting business. Probs best not to do it in the first place if the Doctor comes round and asks 🤭

OH! By the way, I'm wanting to try and get ahead a little bit with Doctor Who so some weeks I might release two episodes and some weeks just one. It really depends on what that week is like, etc. I was thinking that some weeks we may have 1 x Buffy and 2 x Who but I will make a post on that soon to gather thoughts as I want you guys to be happy and to have a say in any changes like that 💜

Oh, we’re in for a gut punch, heart wrenching and all round heartbreaking episode. I better grab my tissues!!

GaveUp

I’m the same way with movies and there’s only a handful I watch reactions to, but there are some that make my rewatch list.

NNC

Also, releasing more doctor who in a single week???? Yes please!!

I would vote for more Buffy, but I'm biased and don't watch Dr Who

I like the idea of occasionally alternating shows for a 2nd episode that week. In all fairness, if you have more Buffy fans, I'd not expect it to be a 50/50 thing. But would hope that a balance could be reached, especially when we have instances of two-parters for example. On the film front, I see your point. Well written films are truly a rarity, especially in the age when we have to listen to the drivel that is the evaluation of the quality of CGI for a film that is only 10 years old. So it is of no surprise to me that two of the examples you give are based on novels. There has to be a few recommendations that the community can give, that are brilliant examples of storytelling on the more traditional front, for the occasional film reaction.

What's great about your plan is that their are no filler episodes left in either this season of Buffy or Dr. Who. It is all goodness from here on out. So whatever you watch in whatever quantity, is going to be awesome for us.

This episode demonstrates just how powerful DW can be. It’s not “just” cheesy aliens, but can also pack a strong emotional punch, or a powerful social message. As you said, many of us would do what Rose did, and this story in particular strikes a chord with almost everyone. My own dad died when I was a teenager, and what I wouldn’t give to have time with him again! I like your idea of alternating two episodes a week between Buffy and DW. There are more episodes in a season of Buffy than DW, but there are many more seasons/series of DW (especially if you go down the path of Classic Doctor Who and/or spin-offs). While it’s often true that a viewer’s first Doctor tends to live in their hearts as THEIR Doctor, it is also true that EVERY Doctor is still THE Doctor, a fact I’m sure you’ll come to appreciate.

You should react to two parters in one video like episodes 9 and 10

I really like your reactions to Doctor Who, and your idea of watching more in a week! You will have a lot of experiences. And we want to watch it with you! Thank you very much!

You asked a while back if the Doctor could return to a point in his own timelines to correct an error. THIS is why he can't. 😀

Wonderful episode, brought to life by powerful acting. As you pointed out, these episodes can each be so different from each other and still be so great I think it's hard to pick a favorite. Regarding movies, I think you should go with your instincts and focus on classic movies that really developed their story and character lines. In addition to the two you mentioned, there are some top quality movies that just about every reactor seems to watch (for instance Forrest Gump), and then there are so many that are off the beaten path but that pack a punch in acting, quality and story development. A few ideas are Amadeus, Scent of a Woman, and Love Story.

Thank you for the movie recommendations! Even if I don't react to them, I could watch them by myself. I just don't seem to gravitate towards them, maybe because I am stubborn sometimes 😅

xjuliettex

Yeah, it's just really not something I seem to gravitate towards. So glad I'm not alone with that!

xjuliettex

I think you raise such a great point about the two-part episodes!! It would be great to have those ones shown closer together, for sure. Thank you so much!! I will definitely try and do that going forward 💜

xjuliettex

I prefer to keep each episode to their own video 🥹 it is a bit quicker for me to get the video prepared and I may not be as cranky with it by the end haha

xjuliettex

I am looking forward to seeing the next doctor, though I'm already sad 🤣😭 I'm so curious to see what happens, how it happens, and what is said!! What will Rose say? OMG! I can't wait!!!

TGrimace

I absolutely love this episode. I won't say it's my favorite of all time, but it was certainly my favorite in the show at the time. I'm not sure if 'your first Doctor is YOUR Doctor'. Maybe for some, but this was my first Doctor and I love him, but MY Doctor is a few regenerations away (Probably strumming a guitar, waiting for his turn. Ha) Oh, and by the way, the sync in this episode was perfect! Dunno if you changed where you were watching, or if something else happened. But whatever it was, it was great!

When you started saying no, no, no, this moment from Friends came to mind. 😆 "Cystal duck!" https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxq8v55FfPcr7-BEejiIkmyefSJx0cxLdK I knew that this would be a popular one with you. So much amazing expressive moments throughout. I have two 'my Doctors' One for Classic (4) and one for Nuwho who is a future number. But I love them all of course. It's always hard to imagine how the next will ever take their place. Some times it's the smallest if things... Like someone's eyebrows. (That's for those Who know. 😉) Fun Classic Fact: The Doctor mentions loosing his whole family because of the war. While they are not necessarily an extremely explored feature in the past. During the very beginning, The Doctor used to travel with a member of his family, his Granddaughter, who went by Susan. Her actual name in their native language is Arkytior, which translates as Rose. I like that a number of chosen character names have a reason behind them that the new watchers are unaware of. There are plenty of these Easter egg details to share.

If you're not really feeling the movie reactions then don't force yourself to do them. I'm perfectly happy with you sticking to series myself. If I had one piece of advice though, it would be to maybe choose some shorter series to go alongside a longer one, just because that way you'd have more variety on the channel and maybe draw more people in.

Martin Holt

In the DW universe, the rules of time travel are convoluted and seemingly contradictory. Two such rules: Rule #1: if an event has been recorded-for example, the sinking of the Titanic - as a fact in history, it's fixed and cannot be changed. If the event has not been recorded as fact - for example, the takeover of the Fourth Great and Bountiful Human Empire by the Jagrafess - it is fluid and can be changed. Rule #2: Rule #1 is open to interpretation and can be ignored when the writers goddamn feel like it. So... yeah. :-)

xjuliettex

I have been VERY interested in your shorter series of Ash vs Evil Dead and the other Haunting one but I'm a scaredy cat 🤣 I might try Ash because that seems fun as well as scary, so it might be not too hideous! I've just recorded the first episode of Twisted Metal today and I really enjoyed that one! It's just one season, 10 episodes, so a short commitment which I love the idea of. Thank you, Neil 💜

Doctorwhoinfinity (Dor Cohen)

I can honestly say I watched this episode about 20 times ish… and still it never fails to break my heart even after all this time

Manna

Loving your reactions so far. But I can tell you are going to make me cry a lotttt haha.
