Three cave spelunkers from earth wouldn't really expect to find themselves where they are now. The cave on earth was notorious for having its reputation for taking many cave explorers' lives, so much so it's often warned with researchers.

However, this group of misfits thought they would not bother to complete a Proper Risk Assessment before their Excursion... So on they went prepared with mounds of rope and flashlights. Finding the entrance of the cave and camping out for the night. Swallowing their worries, eating some food by their campfire.

One sketching their surroundings in their sketchbook with a good amount of detail, another preparing their notes while munching on a roast, and eating out of a can of baked beans. The third playing the lute, while chisps of flame crackle and spark through into the night. Worrying for his team, but usually the brains and the muscle of the group.

Day broke, the group equipping their gear, finally stepping in the cave entrance, beginning their venture inside.

Water drips from the walls while flowing water could be heard inside nearby rooms of the cave. Flashlights making the terrain glitter from splotches of iron ore along the walls.

At least an hour or two deep inside, something began to shake along with the cave network, the three shaken up and regrouping. One of them documenting their adventure with a professional-grade camera. Their breaths being visible from their lamps, the cave was freezing this far down.

Without another moment's notice, a cave wall had given out, a large flood of water had flushed the three explorers down into the depths of the cave systems...

The three screamed and tried not to drown, even more, to avoid being impaled by any sharp edges, flushed away deeper and deeper. Just as their lives were ready to be claimed by the cave, a bright light had shimmered and engulfed the whole room. A rift had desaphorated them out of impending doom.

Reawaking to the sound of booming quakes, the bard amongst them helped up by the other two, clearly shaking and coughing up water, the bard had realized the ground underneath them felt warm.... cozy.... and fibery. One of them complained about their arm being sliced, assuming he had brushed against a sharp rock when in reality his body splinged upon his body warping.

*SNNNNNOOOOOORRRREEEEE*

It was too dark to see anything... and only distinguishing this noise as howling wind. "Cmon, wind means a way out... cmon it seems to be coming from up there" One spoke, the others climbing along. Some of them felt around the "caves walls" could it be some sort of dry moss growth? The bard managed to hoist some rope to a hanging up above. Some sort of cave slime also slithered down from the steep surface. Something about this did not seem ... Normal ... And the wind they felt seemed to smell almost like the sea while being very hot and humid.

The three not knowing this was a One Way Descent
