Lumineon Sketchdump (Patreon)

I found an old pile of digital sketches of El's Lumineon "Lumion"!
I'm actually quite sad I never found the motivation to finish this and then just forgot about it, because I actually still really like these sketches. They're from FREAKING 2017 but I still like them!! Especially Lumion happily splashing in a little pool (at least she was SUPPOSED to be in a kiddy pool (down left)) and the sketch of the second slide that was supposed to be her posing for a Pokemon Contest Photograph.

For those who don't know it, Lumineon is in fact one of my FAVORITE Pokemon. It's up there with Latias, Aegislash and Oricorio for my top Pokemon.

Lumion actually holds a very special place in El's heart. They've connected on a deeply personal level when El's skills in battle were subpar while traveling through Hoenn. Catching a Pokemon the vast majority of people downright overlooked, El felt the odd urge to protect this jolly fish, that somehow reminded her of herself for being considered "weak", despite the bright, joyful and curious spirit Lumion posessed.  El could see the potential in her. She admired Lumineon for its magnificent beauty, both in its enchanting voice, the wonderful butterfly fins and how they would glow in the dark. She wanted Lumion to be SEEN. So her and Lumion became Contest Partners and set their goal on winning EVERY Ribbon Hoenn had to offer. But the glory and success of sparkling Contests were not enough. El wanted to prove everyone WRONG about the both of them being weak. And so she set her goal on collecting BATTLE RIBBONS as well. As MANY as she and Lumion could win together. With a new drive to become a better trainer, she began studying battle tactics to improve her skills and actively trained in Double Battles with a reliable tutor. She had made a lot of progress by the time she arrived in Alola, but she still has a long way ahead of her to grow stronger and far more confident in her skills as a trainer. No, becoming Alolas first Champion has NOT made her as confident yet as you'd think...

Lumion hasn't had a SINGLE appearance since her debut and her cameo in Dusk's Flashback comic, she didn't even have a chance to appear in a VIDEO on Youtube, yet there is SO MUCH STORY TO HER and I have no idea how I'll ever get to include it 😭 But I WANT TO /REALLY BADLY/, so I'LL FIND A WAY ONE DAY. Maybe for now I'll think of something to at least include her in an animation, SHE DESERVES IT 😂
