Monthly COMMUNITY Update - August 2023 (Patreon)

Hey everybody!

This will PROBABLY be the first time I'm putting my monthly update on PUBLIC, because there's some news that'll be of interest to everyone!
Starting August the 5th, I will change my income currency on Patreon from US-Dollar to EURO.
This decision comes with Paypal's newly introduced CONVERSION FEE of 4,5% going active on September 11th next month, which would make me lose another chunk of my income due to it having to be conversed from US-Dollars to my home currency Euro.

What does this mean for active Patrons?
NOTHING! There will be no changes for your pledges from this, everything will stay the same for you guys and you'll continue to be charged the same amount! NEW Patrons however might have to pay a slightly different amount from the current standard of 2-5$, as changing my main currency automatically comes with adjusting the pledges of each tier unfortunately.

Why didn't you change the currency sooner?
I joined Patreon a LONG time ago when the platform was still fresh and new, but didn't actively use it until I was in my mid 20s. But BECAUSE I was one of Patreons earliest users, the only currency available at the time was US-Dollar and for a LONG time old users were permitted from ever changing the currency, even when new ones got introduced. This, fortunately enough, has been finally fixed, but it took me until Paypal introduced yet another FEE to realize that I would seriously start to LOSE money if I wouldn't make the jump back to EURO, now that it's possible.

With that being said, I'm happy to announce there will be some new additions coming to my Patreon page, such as an ONLINE-SHOP, where I can offer my wallpaper bundles I've previously sold on Ko-fi!
With me mainly advertising my Patreon, I have basically abandoned my Ko-fi page and nobody knows there's some digital merch you can buy there to support me. So I think it will be quite convenient to move my merch over here, so people who can't afford a monthly pledge can still buy something in my Patreon-shop to support my work!

I've also been discussing on Discord if I should be adding a third tier. The main reason I haven't offered one yet, is that it's hard to come up with new attractive benefits for it, as the best benefits have already been included in my 5$ tier.
Often I see other creators promise physical rewards for a third tier or access to NSFW-Content. But neither of these things I could offer, as I'm lacking the time and space to store and send out physical rewards and I'm no secret NSFW-artist either :'D
However, some of my Patrons have suggested that the third tier could simply be a badge of honor! What I CAN offer is a separate special thanks section on my videos to highlight my most generous supporters and I'd even include these credits on my Webtoon comic uploads too! Maybe I could even manage to draw custom icons for each of them and of COURSE you'd get a special highlighted role on my Discord Server.

The tier has NOT been added yet and I'm still pondering over benefits, so I'm open for feedback and suggestions on the tier if you guys have any more ideas!

NEXT WEEK I will be on the Comic-and Mangaconvention in Hamburg, a VERY small convention with a downright TERRIBLE organisation, but from my experience it always gathers a large crowd of visitors and wonderful artists anyway!!  Honest to god tho I HATE how chaotic the organisation of this event is and on SUCH SHORT NOTICE as well, but it remains worth visiting for me as the convention is literally happening RIGHT NEXT DOOR to me, so I don't have any traveling costs whatsoever!

If I gain a bigger budget through Patreon, Commissions & Con Sales I'd love to sell on a bigger convention like DOKOMI in the future!

With that being said, my dear friend and main mod SPARX will be visiting me next week for the first time and he's offered to help me on Saturday for the Con, so I'm sure that's gonna be fun :DD We'll make sure to take pictures!!

WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT FOR AUGUST:

Just like last month I'll be moving my efforts forward to find a new publisher for my Gardendragon book series. I'm currently contacting Literacy agencies, as I am certain that an agent would be of HUGE help to me in all future endeavours regarding my books, especially when it comes to re-publishing.

In terms of what you can expect on Patreon, I'll continue working on the animation I shared wips of over the last couple of days and I'll also begin working on another Commission.
You all know I've been working on A LOT of different projects and I can guarantee I will continue to work on all of them bit by bit over the course of this month, that includes the comics as well of course :D

And I'll try to host some more Livestreams if possible! If things work out, I might go live this evening on Youtube or Discord, I'll let you all know on the server!

I will also host a poll, as I'm debating on revamping the page and giving it a new look with new tier-names, but that's for another post!
