Lost in the meadow

of technicolor,

I’m dreaming with 

my eyes wide open.

The soft breeze 

dances pirouettes

in my hair,

the dreamy dusk

illuminates my skin.

Cherry blossom

and citrus lingers

in poppies below 

bare feet;

its mysterious lure 

tells me quietly 

where I’ll surely be.

The red sea

of a symphony

sways simply

in the wind;

it matters only

where you’re going, 

forget all

of where you’ve been.

These days, it can be easy to look backwards and focus on happier memories from brighter days and simpler times. The future today is uncertain and the present isn’t always pleasant, so if you’re anything like me, you enjoy reminiscing on those lovely moments.

However, while it’s okay to remember those times, focusing on the future and where you’re headed with optimistic eyes and a spark in your spirit will give you hope for the unknown and lift your mood.

Focus on putting your energy in working towards where you want to be in the future and forget past mistakes and failures. Give your mind the chance to dream and picture the life you want to live. The winds will shift with your sails and point you towards calm waters and dry land as you immerse yourself in your daydreams and float where the tides of your thoughts take you.

Figuring out your next move isn’t always easy, but listen to the quiet whispers in your head and your heart and follow their echo until the message is loud and clear. The future is yours for the taking and your story to write.
