Apologies to whoever came up with that sublime description—I meant to credit you but I've forgotten who it was, and can't check since of course I changed the other six votes to match. Also after rewatching this scene I regret not voting for Pom Klementieff, who finished #26. For this expression alone:

HISTORY:

Jenkin's only previous feature, Bait, was likewise theatrically released last year, by which time it had exited its eligibility window.

Significantly, I'd say, this is the first time since we've seen Downey since 2008, when he placed 2nd in the lead category for Iron Man and 8th in Supporting for Tropic Thunder. Prior to that, he'd landed at #10 (Two Girls and a Guy, 1998), #3 (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, 2005), #3s (A Scanner Darkly, 2006), and #6s (Zodiac, 2007). Beer is reliably showing up every other year for her work in a Petzold joint, having previously placed 20th in Supporting for Transit (2019) and 14th in the lead category for Undine (2021). Pöysti and Schubert are new.

Falcon Lake is Le Bon's first feature-length screenplay.
