Sorry, Yentl fans, but your choice landed on the wrong side of that conjunction. The Last Seduction (currently streaming—with ads—on Peacock, Vudu, Tubi, the Roku Channel, all over the place) took 59% of the vote in this week's request poll, so my first experience with Streisand in male drag will have to wait. Dahl's film was on my original 1994 top ten list, and I saw it a second time the following year, which I know, even though I wasn't yet logging repeat viewings, thanks to this email I sent to my friend Eric the next day. Had forgotten that I briefly put Film Forum's calendar up on my website in the days before they created their own. Yes, my site predates Film Forum's. 

(The two spy movies at the Walter Reade were The Deadly Affair, mentioned in the email, and Larry Cohen's The Private Files of J. Edgar Hoover.)

I have now seen 19 Lumet films. Which is only seven more in 29 years...
