HISTORY:

Cronenberg previously placed 14th for Crash (1997), 3rd for A History of Violence (2005), and 15th for Cosmopolis (2012).

Third nod in Actress for Plaza, following Ingrid Goes West (#19, 2017) and Black Bear (#12, 2020). Everyone else is new.

Hong's Skandie history suffers a bit from the number of his early films that never got a NYC theatrical release (and hence were never eligible for the survey proper; he won the ancillary poll of best undistributed films multiple times). But he's still placed many times in Screenplay: 11th for Woman on the Beach (2008), 13th for Night and Day (2009), 17th for The Day He Arrives (2012), 10th for Right Now, Wrong Then (2016), and 12th for On the Beach at Night Alone (2017).

Crimes of the Future was far and away my personal #1 for the year, so I'm pleased to see it this high. Also, I somehow suspect this won't be the last we see of RRR in the Scene category…

Very pleasantly surprised Justin Long placed so high. Wish Mescal made the top 5 though (same with Greggory, Malanda and Monae from yesterday)

A lot of talk about you on the latest ep of Blank Check. Hoping you’re on it soon.
