(Tip o' the cap if you recognize the relevance. If not, googling will do the trick.)

Another very close match this week, and one that didn't go the way I expected—assumed more people would be curious about my thoughts on a vintage Joe Dante film I've never seen, but Rabid wound up with 51% vs. The Howling's 49%. I believe at the moment it's my third-favorite Cronenberg, after Dead Ringers and The Fly, but my sole viewing was 20 years ago. Streaming on Amazon Prime, Tubi, Kanopy, various other platforms, and readily rentable as well.

This month, random.org's algorithm selected one request that was currently active and another that I think was withdrawn only this week. (Maybe last week. Recently, anyway.) That's Nicolas Roeg's Eureka up top, not Shinji Aoyama's (which I revisited not too long ago); it's actually also one of the older extant requests, having spent 10 weeks in the poll years ago before being revived (by a different person, I believe) a few months back. I've never seen it, nor have I ever seen Stay Hungry, which gets the ol' picked-right-after-being-pulled treatment. Looks like one can rent Eureka from Vudu, while Stay Hungry is available from multiple sources (including Tubi if you can stomach the ads).

As ever, my sincere thanks and gratitude to each of you for supporting me in the only job that I know how to do. (I still hope to eventually feel comfortable sitting at a poker table again, but that day hasn't yet arrived.) I feel lucky to have y'all.

I would actually be more interested in your (recent) thoughts on Aoyama's Eureka than Roeg's. Are they public in any way?

I didn’t add much to what I wrote in 2000. https://boxd.it/1NrJOt
