Granted, I keep trying to dissuade votes for The Silence of the Lambs by noting that my freakishly low opinion is rooted in deviations from Harris, the detailing of which I'm not convinced will make for scintillating reading. Still, Duelle isn't among Rivette's better-known films, by any means, so I'm pleasantly surprised that it pulled off the win this week, garnering 52% of the vote opposite one of the most beloved Best Pictures of what I'm going to insist upon calling the modern era, on account of I am old enough to have seen Lambs in first-run as an adult. Looks like MUBI has Duelle at present, though I vaguely recall it and Noroît improbably being on Amazon Prime at one point.

I hope you get around to reviewing Noroit and Merry-Go-Round at some point too. I love that whole trilogy (and really Rivette in general) for reasons I'm not sure I can articulate.
