...is the clever headline I'd have used had Sátántangó won this week's request poll, and am now using anyway because I'm so ludicrously proud of it. Instead, High Sierra won quite handily, receiving 59% of the vote. I always feel a bit bad when a film loses twice (or more) consecutively, but the Sátánists will surely triumph eventually, and I'm stoked to see a major early-'40s Raoul Walsh film that had somehow escaped me until now. Got me the Criterion Blu right here, but it's readily rentable if you don't.
