Lay Ladykillers Lay (Patreon)

Can't remember whether this was The Ladykillers' third or fourth time at bat, but it finally squeaked out a razor-thin victory, getting just 51% of the vote opposite The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. Maybe it was Tom Hanks getting mentioned in all the pandemic-anniversary stories. (No, not that Ladykillers. But still.) Looking very forward to it, both for its own sake and because it's only 97 minutes—I'm in the middle of a four-day streak of quite long, heavy movies (63 Up, Amores perros, revisiting the extended cut of Margaret tonight for a Watch This piece, finally getting to Wiseman's Juvenile Court tomorrow) and will welcome something brief and light.
