Although I didn’t even give it any points (I’m 8/10) I still assumed most voters adored this so much, and at vast numbers, that it would finish even higher than 4. Kinda figured we’d have FURY ROAD and TREE OF LIFE in the top two spots.

I too was surprised, as I’d assumed exactly the same. (Indeed, I confidently told several folks—months before anyone voted—that it was a two-way race between those films, with no other possible contenders.) It was ultra-close at the top (only two points separate 1st and 2nd), but there’s a 29-point gap between 2nd and 3rd, and then another nine points going down to <i>Tree of Life</i>. On the other hand, it had fewer votes than <i>Phantom Thread</i> and hence a much higher average/Passiondex.
