All's Welles that ends Welles (Patreon)

A couple of folks must have changed their vote in the final hour, as The Big Sleep went from being very narrowly ahead to very narrowly losing while the total number of votes remained the same. Closest match-up I can recall, but I'm happy to be prodded into finally seeing The Other Side of the Wind, which has suffered from my knowledge that it's not likely to disappear from Netflix anytime soon. As for this month's random drawing, The Beach Bum landed uncomfortably close to the top two slots, but two very long-running requests (Deep End had been tied for the current record, now held solely by La Dolce Vita) were the algorithm's choice. Once again I probably won't be able to get to those right away, due to Sundance and Skandies cramming, but look for reviews to drop sometime before mid-February at the latest.
