Criterion's been getting a workout in the poll lately, what with Broadcast News winning this month's random drawing, A Brighter Summer Day (which I've carved out time to watch tonight) winning last week, and now Thief holding off a strong challenge from perennial bridesmaid Dog Day Afternoon. This is another film that I've seen just once, so long ago (predates my annual logs, so sometime before 1992) that I remember virtually nothing about it—not even my opinion, apart from feeling confident that I neither loved nor hated it since either extreme would've stuck with me. I believe there's thieving? Don't tell me!
