HISTORY:

Grisebach failed to make the cut for Longing, her only previous Skandies-eligible feature.

Two titans among the actresses today. Swinton moves into a three-way tie for most all-time Skandies appearances, with 15. (Breaking that tie via average placement, she's in 2nd place, behind Philip Seymour Hoffman—who hangs onto his title for at least one more year—and ahead of Isabelle Huppert. Nobody else has more than 10 total nods, so they're way out in front.) Her complete rundown:

1. Julia (2009)
4s. Michael Clayton (2007)
4s. Snowpiercer (2014)
5. The Deep End (2001)
5. We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011)
7. Only Lovers Left Alive (2014)
9s. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
11. I Am Love (2010)
12s. Burn After Reading (2008)
12s. Suspiria (2018)
13s. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)
14. A Bigger Splash (2016)
18. Female Perversions (1997)
19s. Thumbsucker (2005)
19s. Trainwreck (2015)

NOTE: One member of the AVB cheekily voted for Swinton in Supporting Actress and for "Lutz Ebersdorf" in Supporting Actor. I failed to notice this until the last minute, when I was double-checking the results for errors, and then didn't feel like delaying everything while I waited for the voter in question to potentially completely revise his S. Actor ballot. So I just ignored that, pretending that Ebersdorf actually exists. (Had this voter—okay, it's Josh; you'll be able to see it eventually anyway—not also allotted points to Swinton, I'd have felt more obligated to request a revision. And technically he did vote for a credited actor.)

Binoche, like Michelle Williams, now has nine career Skandies nods, placing her among the top ten all-time. (Well, top 11. One additional actor will be joining them down the road.) Her complete rundown:

3. Certified Copy (2011)
5. Flight of the Red Balloon (2008)
6s. The English Patient (1996)
11. Caché (Hidden) (2005)
12. Let the Sunshine In (2018)
13. Clouds of Sils Maria 2015)
13s. Code Unknown (2001)
13s. Summer Hours (2009)
17. Camille Claudel 1915 (2013)

Both men are new. Thank god.

Phil Lord previously placed 8th for The Lego Movie (2014, written with Christopher Miller). Rothman's previous writing career has primarily been for television, though he was among the writers on 22 Jump Street (which didn't place).
