Phantom of the Paradise finally wins the poll after twice finishing second. Will I kinda hate it as much as I kinda hated Sisters, which I just watched for the first time (but haven't yet logged)? We'll soon find out! Sorry, Orson, I'll get to you eventually. Maybe pick up the pace next time.

Wooooooooo. I predict you'll like it more than other De Palmas. It's really funny, the music is great, and it's not what you might expect from him. It's also one of the crucial texts of anti-establishment '70s cinema, but I'm not sure you'll go so far as to agree with me on that.

That's funny, Scott - I voted for it because it's generally *exactly* what I expect from De Palma, and want to hear more of Mike's thoughts on De Palma in general.

You were gonna get that anyway, thanks to Criterion releasing Sisters. Preview: I think the sheer stupidity of his movies almost always overwhelms and undermines his formal expertise.
