One of my favorite shows growing up has always been The Joy of Painting. It was so soothing to watch while also learning so much about how much better life is when you just chill and don’t sweat the small stuff. “Happy accidents” he called them. Well in this video I discovered a wonderfully happy accident.

You see when it comes to LED’s they aren’t on constantly despite the fact that we see them that way. They actually flicker at an extremely high speed, that is undetectable to the human brain. When filmed with a camera however, it’s important to match up the shutter speed to the flicker speed so that the lights look constantly on and don’t flicker. This is something I’ve always been well aware of, and have always taken care to manage when appropriate. But this time around it seems there were some settings on my camera which caused the display I was looking at to be shown at a different frame rate than was actually being filmed. Due to this, the lights in this video Flickr quite a bit. We had them set to flickering, but it was supposed to be a slow on and off...not wild strobe party time. However, I feel I managed to use this happy accident to my advantage and make the video even better! I hope you all enjoy, and remember not to be too...paranoid.
