Carissa - Blackout Days (Patreon)

Years ago I came across the song Blackout Days by Phantogram and instantly fell in love with it. I listened to it so many times that I bet even the neighbors knew the lyrics. Once while showering the idea hit me that I would love to make a video to that song. At the time, I wasn’t making videos, and it’s actually one of the key inspirations I had that made me decide to get started filming. Now, I’ve finally done it! This is one of the most laborious videos I’ve ever made, between planning, filming, re-planning, multiple shoot locations...and for the first time ever I had to film out of sequence, complicating things massively for an amateur like myself.

The complications didn’t end there, I also had one heck of a time getting it edited. I had over an hour and a half of footage, and it all came from my new Sony camera which my computer has had an extremely difficult time playing. Due to this, and many thanks to Linus Tech Tips, I’ve learned several new things and generated a new workflow to help me handle this huge burden. During the middle of editing, I had a huge loss of work due to a glitch, and it took me an additional 3 hours of piecing together the work I lost and trying my best to re-create it from memory. All in all, I think the end product is worth it, and Phantogram if you happen across this, I hope you can enjoy all of the time and love I put into it, I think it shows.
