There was a feature I wanted to add to the game in the last update but after hours of getting nowhere I came to the conclusion it was impossible to do.

Today while looking into creating a different feature I discovered there was an incredibly simple way to achieve what I had wasted hours failing to do previously. 

So in summary, the next update will now include a toggle-able TL;DR mode which will summarise scenes for those who don't care much for the story.
