2017 was the year I stopped wanting to make a fun game and started actually making one. Around this time last year was when I discovered TFgamesite and decided to try my hand at making an interactive story for myself.

Inspired by Student Transfer and Press Switch I set about creating my own game in the same vein as those two. Thus the Reborn App project was started.

Looking back it was mixture of success and failure. The initial reaction was good and inspired me to continue, but very quickly interest seemed to fade away. I was hoping for a lot more feedback and suggestions than what I ultimately received. I think the problem there was just a lack of things to comment on.

The biggest flaw Reborn App has is that the player is too powerful. They can escape almost any situation that prevents me from creating drama or suspense. It also granted too much freedom.  Moving forward I plan to start my next project in early 2018. My next project will be more liner that will have main path with brief branches based on choices that will result in different endings. I'm hoping that a longer, more interesting single story will be more engaging for the audience.

I don't know when I'll have something to show. I won't estimate either since I have a bad habit of missing deadlines.

Thank you everyone for the support over the past year. I hope you'll continue following my work into 2018 and beyond.

I can see how you think you've written yourself into a corner with the level of power the reborn app gives the player, and we all like to think that we can abuse its power to achieve anything, the thing is we're all still subject to the intelligence, morals, and personality of Joe and to the reactions of the characters around him the drama and suspense is in what you've been doing all along the game may change based on our choices but it's still that actions of Joe and the events in his life. He's a character that has been given unlimited power but lacks the slightest comprehension just how much he can do, you can use that to let you write as many scenarios as you can think of and the intrigue of the story will be found in how Joe was clever or stupid enough to get himself there along with what he thought and felt along the way and what other characters did to make it easier or harder. Just ask yourself "what CAN I do with the reborn app?" and "What is the best and worst case scenario will that will get me in?". I know it's easier said than done and a lack of feedback is disheartening, I've been there too, so please in hopes that you don't stop exploring the endless possibilities I will regularly share more of my thoughts on your work with you

Sorry about that! I suppose it's easy to forget how important feedback can be. I will share my thoughts in a message (since it is easier to read) but let me say I look forward to whatever you decide to do. You've put out an impressive amount of content in a short amount of time, and if it gets to a place you feel happy to call "done", you are in an even more rarified company! Congratulations on a year of following your inspiration!
