As I was going through my sketchbook from last year I came across this terrible tiny sketch... it's the moment when Marco and Hugo (personified by the awful stick figures below) see what's behind the dark wall in the climax of Fortuna's Rings... the massive, severed head of Clockbot Charon.

Sometimes, I have to scribble down something when I'm working out an idea, without caring about the aesthetics just to get the thought out of my head.

The moment when Hugo first sees the giant eyes light up was inspired by a nightmare I had that I used nearly moment for moment in the description within the book.
