Hey! I wanted to talk about the art the will go on the next game ^^.

This is a test, I did something very different to what I presented to you weeks ago.
Tell me what do you think of the Art-style in the comment section.

I wish to go for something more close to summertime Saga, not because I want to imitate it, but because It's more pleasant. What do I mean by that:

  • 3/4 view  of the characters, the MC should appear in the other side. I prefer this setup of camera angle because It's more pleasant to draw instead of front view,  I don't really like to draw faces from front ^^ and curves are also more visible, in general I appreciate more the result.
  • Another style of Line-art and colorization:
Last time I presented you an anime style drawing this time I did more shading, but also more thick lines.
It was really pleasant to draw!
I will still try to change the line-art tool, and take something more clean than this.

What are the factors that influence the Art style?

There are many factors that will determine how the final art style will look like:

  • I should appreciate drawing it, there are some drawing style that look good but aren't amusing to draw.
  • People should like it (obviously)
  • It should find a good balance between quality and time. I can't do a 12h ultra realistic drawing. That's also why I tried to work with thick lines but colored, it's a lot faster to work with.
  • It has to work with animations.

Concerning this last point, yes I intend to animate stuff, I know I talk about summertime saga a lot but it's the first 2D game that really got me, so it's like my 1st reference ^^, I love the way sex scenes & more are animated.

I will animate with Moho 12, it's like  working with 3D models: We put bones to the drawing (body parts on different layers) and then we animate the bones. I will just have to fix the little defaults after creating all frames ^^.
I will try to make an example in the future days.
That way of doing animations allow me to do more shadings, because I won't have to redraw the character multiple times, I will just have to separate the character parts into different layers and animate bones.
Also, I still have all of the 3D animations for daz, that could be greatly used as guides ^^.

I will continue to experiment with other characters you like, I'll make patrons voting ^^.

_____

Just a little information, some people are worried because of my transition to 2D, because they didn't liked the writing but liked the 3D, I'm not complaining about this.
I just wanted to say that the writing will be different in this game, I've played many games recently and tried to study how character development was written, and I will work on something greater.
Like, slower relationship progression, casuals life stuff, learning to know girls, etc...

The artstyle looks even worse than before and adding padding to the story only makes it boring and annoying to play. Your games had only 2 good things, the amazing 3D models and going directly to the sex scenes with no bullshit or anything even if the story was atrocious, and you intend to take both away.

I guess it's a matter of tastes, some people prefers when sex isn't direct, they prefer when it comes after a relationship build, and some prefer direct porn ^^. Well, if I lose your interest, then I wish you great continuations, I hope you'll find content that will fit your expectations ^^.

it's not part of the next game ^^ this is just like an exercice

I really like this drawing style more than the anime like style you drew of Isabella. If you do go on to make the 2d game, will be a sandbox-like experience or a visual novel?

eroniverse

Actually I have to train with ren'py very soon, so see what I can do easily or not ^^ (btw I'm not sure of what "sand-box' implies I'm not familiar with this expression)

Sandbox like Summertime Saga's gameplay. A sandbox is a style of game in which minimal character limitations are placed on the gamer, allowing the gamer to roam and change a virtual world at will. In contrast to a progression-style game, a sandbox game emphasizes roaming and allows a gamer to select tasks.
