Hey! so, this is the first time I'm working on code that intensely x) (16h a day :s), it was long but I've learned many many things!
These last 2 days I was working on a new code architecture. The reason is that some computers can't handle the amount of data to load at the beginning.
___(If you don't understand the next part, that's not important)
In unity, I'm working in a scene. I'm putting every elements that I want to display on your screen, and every elements that needs to be saved.
Actually, there was a big amount of quests to load, and an enormous amount of Sprites (When I write a dialogue, I'm putting/linking the sprite it needs to be displayed)
Quests
I put all the quests as static stuff (it means it's not in the scene), and created just 2 variable that store every variable that needs to be saved.
The new system of quest is working, I mean I've tested many configuration and it seems to work like before (but without loading them)
Images/dialogues
The game is loading more than 2000 sprites, linked to the dialogues.
I've changed the structure and just directly indicated the sprites names in the dialogues declarations (lol), Hrem, in brief, you're not loading all these images anymore, it will just look for the sprite when it's asked to show an image.
The longest part was to rewrite EVERY dialogues (200+) to fit the new system :s
Actually
pretty much all the dialogues are rewrote (I mean the code that handle the dialogues), now I have to adapt few details and verify everything work.
Tomorrow is my birthday, I wish to give myself a 1 day break on that day, so I'll probably finish it on the 19th ^^.
Having many patrons/game lovers that can't play my games anymore was very problematic to me, so I'm working hard on that to make it accessible to everyone again ^^.
Once this is done, the problem won't appear again!
NB: Many reports of bugs have disappear with these modifications ( guard blocking the map, quest not triggering, etc...
NB2: I will probably finally make the 0.7.2 with caroline AND Pink on next month, I wanted to make it this month but this thing has taken me a lot of time.
If I finish it on the 19th, I will just get like a week to make that Pink Update, I think It won't be good.
So instead, what I can propose you this end of month is:
- A working game (lol) very very soon
- A special Update: Enhancement of many things, like rework of intro/battle system, adding music, a replay of animations, and many little things ^^, at the end of month (I would like the 26th)
