A.R.C. Progress: Padded Cell Redesign (Patreon)
Content
Well, for technical reasons, I couldn't really use the old padded cell, so using a new modeling approach, I made a modular system of pads that work on a 1m grid and can repeat as much as I want. This version of the padded cell has sloped walls to act as a sort of pillow, since in a regular cube you don't have anywhere to rest your head unless a pillow is thrown in. And that is not an option at the ARC! So, here it is, with DAZ's Genesis 8 basic male in there for scale (he i s 175cm tall).
The inner dimensions are as follows.
Distance from wall to wall and floor to celing: 200 cm
Distance from door to back walls: 220 cm
distance corner to corner (edgewise) 242 cm
distance corner to corner (cornerwise) 288 cm
All of these distances are with the padding uncompressed. The padding on the walls can compress a maximum distance of 25 cm and is very soft. The padding on the floor can also compress 25 cm before hitting the metal underneath, but it is somewhat firmer and under the weight of an average human, will compress only about 10 cm.
Floor padding in other parts of the ARC will be twice as firm to make it easier to walk, compressing only 5cm with each step.
The distance from door to back wall is longer because I decided to slope the walls into it rather than have it be little bit of a hallway before you reach the door (or make the door padding super thick). So inmates lying down get a little extra leg room.
