and once again I've spent way too long trying to figure out what the heck im drawing. Usually, coloring is the easiest part for me! This time I had the base pose in mind, and I knew that I wanted the light to be brightest on Halsin's pelvic area (as if you need more of a reason to look down there lol) but other than that it was a free for all. 

Process

I did number #2 first, the one with the sharp orange light - but something wasn't quite right. So I experimented with a paler moon light for main light and a warmer secondary light, to get the effect of night time activities for #3. But that felt too cold and I realised this light comp didn't lead the eye the way I wanted.

So I did a 180 and put them outside during daytime for #4. Thematically? Definitely on point. But it didn't have that warm cozy vibe I realised I wanted. I could've kept tinkering with this one but it wasn't hitting that spot.

Then I browsed my ref folder for inspiration for a while and realised I actually want it to be similar to the portrait I just finished of him - dark and intimate, but more warm and loving.

And that's how I settled for image #1.
