Here I am againnn with more anatomy studies for my Azara species!

Last time, we left off with this odd picture of Queen Izkaph: https://www.patreon.com/posts/queen-17713906

I attempted to draw her with a slightly different chest anatomy: no clavicles and shoulder blades facing the sides of her ribcage instead of the back (like in humans).

While this idea intrigued me, she still looked a bit awkward, and it felt as though her arms didn't have a wide range of movement.

After posting that picture, I followed your awesome advice and practiced a lot, and I think I found a middle ground that makes the Azaras look flexible enough, without giving them human-like shoulders.

As you can see from this picture, their arms are capable of stretching and twisting quite a bit.

I really like the idea of them not having clavicles for some reason XD I think it would be interesting if they designed objects, clothes and architecture to match their own peculiar anatomy, instead of a more general human-like one.

What do you guys think?

While your mind wanders with this deep philosophical stream of consciousness, have a trio of fellas! A Tatharath to the left, a Zercutath in the middle and an Izarath to the right.

While you're at it, please ignore the Zercutath's obnoxiously short legs and the Izarath's odd proportions. They shall be fixed!

While I personally like the human shoulders more (it'd be easier to draw for myself personally since I wish to have an azara oc) I admit this is a different look indeed. Perhaps if i see more studies of the arms working as arms it won't seem so weird but the way they are now I can't really see it possible for them to lift their arms up at all, to throw a spear for instance.
